Goodbye Rat-Hole Job

To make a long story short, I quit my job. I hated working there and I'm glad I got out. It was beautiful. I had a two-week notice all typed out and as the guy was chewing me out for being unreliable (it's very hard for me to BE reliable when I despise the place so much; at my previous job I went to the office even when I was sick cause I loved it :p), he goes, "So you have two choices, you can ship up or there's the door." And I handed him the two-week notice and said "Ok then!" XD I'm FREEEEEEE. No more picking up old, crusty pepperoni off the floor! We've been house and cat sitting lately, hence my absence. This week we've been over at my sister's. Over the course of our stay, Melanie continued to show her gender preferences. That is, she seemed to only come out when it was just me. Not five minutes ago, she was sitting in my lap, which is a first for this trip, but it always took her a little while to warm back up to me. She's very skittish. Mouse, on the other hand, doesn't too much care about who you are as long as when he flops his massive girth over, he gets a belly rub. They're cute kitties. <3This next week we'll be over at the in-laws. I don't really want to be mean about it, but this house is very dusty, and our sinuses have been killing us over it. Not to mention the 'fridge and pantry were mostly bare. When we change houses, I've been assured that not only was the 'fridge totally restocked, but apparently there's some suprises waiting. :D Plus the house has always been very clean whenever I go so that's a bonus just in sleep-ease. Expect to see me around more often now that I'm between jobs. ;p

"Metaverse" Article featuring World of Warcraft

Well, someone was bound to write about it sometime. Link. It's an amusing read too. Very creepy, indeed. The artwork that accompanies the sections definitely gets the point across too, and I can't help but snicker at a dragon picking up some food and a nazi at a store. I'm suprised they didn't use EverQuest for this article as the main focus but in another sense I'm not. While EverQuest probably holds more subscribers and has for a longer period of time, WoW is the current new thing and it's expanding exponentially. Considering the topic, they could have very well used Furcadia, Matrix Online, or even Anarchy Online. But they didn't, and so now I get to be amused by the drawing of a female human mage at a boardroom meeting and analogies of items and concepts that aren't foreign to me.So, let me get this one straight here. If I was making an Awesome Me, and had the ability to choose a perfectly lean, sexy human or elf, (nevermind the fact that my first character was such an elf) but instead now have a decaying, undead shadow-specialized priest (which I enjoy more than said previous elf), what does that say about me? Teehee.Well, it's funny anyway. Go look!"Wouldn't those long Calculus lectures have been easier to sit through if, every time you learned something important, gold light shot out from your body?"Hell yes.Even more amusement:Check this out.Oh, this one too.

Strange Ailment, Mike's Job, My Game Addiction

Cutest teddybear ever.Mike is finishing up his first week on the job, and I've got today off. His job rocks, I wish I could have found something similar. Basically, he's a merchandising representative for Storelink, which services Home Depot stores among others. He's responsible for two Home Depot stores, specifically, maintaining displays and stock placement for the hardware departments. He gets an awesome Dell PDA that has a high-resolution camera in it, which will receive his daily assignments and the camera is to take pictures of the stock when he is done setting it up. He has 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday, with no specific start time and no specific end time. He can go in at 8, he can go in at 10, as long as he has a total of eight hours that day. Awesome, isn't it?For the past week or two I've been feeling strangely sick to my stomach. It's an off and on kind of thing, usually in the dark-hours of the morning, afternoon, and again in the evening. It's a nausia that that steadily increases until I feel like I need to puke. Usually I can eat a little handful of something and it'll subside for a while, or take a Pepsid. I tried looking it up on WebMD, since I can't afford to go to a doctor about it, but the only thing I could find suggested that it may be anxiety related. Apparently nausea/vomitting is also a side effect of my Seasonale, but considering I've never encountered this side effect before I don't know if it's related or not, and I certainly don't know if a side effect would persist for a week or more. Augh, my ears are stopped up now too, ick. :(The internet has been boring me lately. I think I mostly just miss the thrill of World of Warcraft. Sitting around on Furcadia has lost its flavor (woo joy, let's log in and idle at the clearing for a few hours), the forums I frequent aren't so active as to always keep me entertained, and I long to interact with our A-Team. Sadly, I know that they--Fuzbucket, Mahimoh, and Jigs--will all be a higher level now than we are, and that's kind've saddening. We were such an awesome team, and us being drug along by higher levels just won't be as fun. Mike seems to think that maybe Fuz will have been leveling his warlock instead of his tauren warrior, since we promised everyone we'd be back in about two months, but I'm not that optimistic. I gave Mahimoh my email address and never heard from him. Wish I still had the Relentless Horde teamspeak server information. With or without the A-Team, however, I still want to log in, wreak havoc, and melt some faces (then eat them). On Animal Cops last night, someone abandoned a bunch of dwarf hamsters in a plastic container near an apartment complex. They were all in good health and apparently were all very friendly (they didn't nip the investigator). It made me mad to think someone would just dump the poor hammies, but if I lived in Houston I'd so be going to the SPCA to adopt them. They were soooo cute!Edit:I want to die now. Asked mom to bring me home some medicine and she refuses, cause "I may be pregnant." I don't see how... the nausea isn't restricted to morning and night, I've felt it in the afternoon and evening while up at work too. I'm going to go apeshit ballistic if I'm pregnant. I think I'd rather kill myself than produce an ugly, noisy baby.Edit #2:Wtf. Mom's bringing me home a pregnancy test, some Cokes, Doritos, and Cheetos. Normally I have to beg for that. ...Wtf. -_-Edit #3:Peed on stick. Not pregnant. :p Mom's got some anti-nausea stuff that she's taken before, I'll start using it when I start feeling ill again, likely later this evening. :p I wonder if I'll feel well enough to go to work tomorrow.

Game Meme Thingy Ganked From kalio

1. Pick fifteen(!) video games you love/thoroughly enjoyed.2. Find screen captures (stills) for each video game, preferably from scenes you like. If you can't find a still, pick a new video game.3. Post the pictures with the rules; let your readers guess from what game each still is. (Readers, no cheating. No google, no looking at my livejournal interests, and no looking at the properties to see if it has the game name.)Guess what they are! :D NO CHEATING!

Just Need Something Better

I'm one picky little twerp, I know. I hate opening because then I have to scrub out the trash cans and top-to-bottom clean the bathrooms (women's restrooms are always freakin' nasty). I hate closing because it's a TON of work that I can't possibly concieve myself doing on my own. Namely, cleaning condiments, sweeping under tables, vacuuming, cleaning the kiddy sky-tubes, scrubbing game floorboards, balancing all ball-related games, refilling tickets, scrubbing the floor around each game and finally polishing all games so that there are NO fingerprints. Wtp. So naturally, closing shifts suck. I'm ready to go find a new job now. On the bright side I was told I could fill another position other than gameroom if I don't like it. I might do that. I may try for cashier or something. I don't ever see them close or anything. Sure, I'd have to deal with a ton more people but man, if all I do would be to tap on a touchscreen and handle some money, sure, sign me up. It'll depend on the other responsibilities that aren't as clearly laid out.Mike got a job finally, he'll be a hardware merchandise rep servicing two Home Depot stores. $10/hr, not bad. He gets an awesome PDA with a camera and wireless connection to receive his work and send reports on. Sweeeeeet.Still miss playing on World of Warcraft. Been discussing the idea of re-trying a PVP server now that Battlegrounds are in. I don't know yet. I'd certainly be rolling a priest though, maaaaybe a shaman. Hmm. :I It would all depend on if Mike was willing to retry PVP with me. Like heck I'm gonna quest by myself! :p I dunno though, we do have level 30-something characters waiting for us to resume them on PVE. Decisions, decisions.

Third Day of Work!

Yes, Inny is now a GAMEROOM CAST MEMBER for Chuck E. Cheese's! My uniform, black pants and a Chuck E polo that is black and white, makes me stand out like a sore thumb--a refereeing sore thumb. So much so that I can be bussing a table at the back of the room and people will see me all the way up front so they can come track me down when X game suddenly does something wrong! Eventually I'll get a photo. But not today. I was so happy to get out of the clothes (I HATE tucking in my shirt) that for a short time I was running around butt-naked (thus, hubby got a peep show).Behold my cut/paste/replace skillz!inhandra: hay uinhandra: <3<3inhandra: oop afk brb.kalio: kinhandra: bakinhandra: how r u :Dkalio: im k uinhandra: i'm gudinhandra: I had my first "real" work day. xD Even if it was short.kalio: Ohh. :okalio: How'd it go?inhandra: Not bad! State of Affairs (remix)

Sure, we were threatened to be kicked out, but I'm still oddly chipper. We have two places we could go and would probably be better off, so, no worries anymore. I have talked to Frank and he will not be having me working mostly maintenence anymore. My shifts will be somewhere like 4 PM - close or whatever so that I'll be mostly in game room or party room, helping customers. This is goooot. Goooot. Mike is joining a temp agency, and there's already an opening for a technician starting at $12/hr. WOOT! Oh, and, THE TELESCOPE IS UP FOR SALE. Please look and bid. >:) Yuss. It works very nice, trust me, we looked at Saturn's rings and it was awesome. :3Time for popcorn and movie.Hamha out.

Selling extra Baggage

I think I had a nervous breakdown this morning.. haven't quite yet recovered.I offered to sell my jewelry for money and my clothes. He says its too much of a hassle to have a driveway sale and instead wants to sell his telescope on ebay along with an old ring. Think I will try to sell some stuff too once we have enough money for me to justify smaller sales (since the money goes straight into the bank, I wouldn't be able to get the winnings to use for shipping yet until bank is paid off).Probably clothes, jewelry, an old painting, shoes, anything I find lying around that I don't need anymore. Maybe also my old PS1 with some games including DDR and a dance pad. Will post more when stuff goes up.Please consider browsing... we need the money very badly.

My Problem with Ergo Keyboards

A long time ago I started suffering hand-pains when I used the computer. My dad bought me a Microsoft Natural Pro keyboard (the old, white ones, remember?) and since then I've loved ergos. I simply cannot use the straight, flat keyboards anymore, as they almost immediately make my hands hurt. After a few days, they REALLY hurt. I don't mean a slight ache, I mean it gets bad to the point where I can't use my hands for much of anything other than to display the latest finger/wrist splint fashions. So, this keyboard is very old now, there's god-knows-what stuffed between the keys (I distinctly remembering some Nerds falling out when I tried to clean it a couple years ago, along with part of a Cheeto and other assorted odd, unrecognizable things), and I want a new one. Sad to say, I go through this phase of wanting a new keyboard somewhat regularly, but can never find a good one.Want to know why? Because apparently no one can figure out how to make them right. That page is very close to explaining every problem I have with the new designs. I just can't make an ergo keyboard anymore that is NORMAL. And in all seriousness, when I played with a new Microsoft Natural, I had no clue where the insert key went! They have to move keys around, remove keys, remove LEDs, etc. Just because I use an ergo doesn't mean I'm a REBEL who wants everything different. I means I just want a keyboard that won't make my hands shrivel. (But the media/sleep keys ARE nice, despite.)Part of my issue with this old keyboard is that I don't have a replacement stashed away, and two, it's so old that when I type on it the noise is incredibly loud. So if Mike is trying to sleep and I'm still on the computer for whatever reason, it sounds like there's a herd of buffalo stomping across the equipment.I want a new keyboard for my birthday but at this rate I don't think anyone will ever make them "properly" again. :( If anyone can even FIND a regular, ergo keyboard for sale that is new (and quiet), I'd be very happy. I might not be able to afford it now but that doesn't mean I wouldn't eventually purchase it.I bit the bullet and applied to a local Chuck E. Cheese's. o_o; The two jobs in particular included waitress (I'd only really deliver pizzas, drinks, and tokens, so whatever), and party hosting, which includes setting up party tables, insuring they all get their food, drinks, sing happy birthday along with any characters there, and bus the tables after they leave. Not too bad. It's a lot better than the one in what we call, Hickory Hood.EDIT:Daiktana found this. Omg! I know what I want for my birthday now.

Dreaming of Food

Last night I dreamed I was eating an Auntie Ann's pretzel with marinara sauce dip.Other stuff happened but that was the highlight of the dream.Am I pathetic for dreaming about food?

Interview

Went to the interview! It was ok. They said they'd call me back in a few weeks to let me know either way and possibly for a second interview. The person they are replacing doesn't leave until August, that's when they'll hire someone new. They told me I was in the top 5 choices, but, my salary would be $6.50/hr. Bleh. Oh well, it IS a job, even if it's $3.50 below what my previous one paid.Went on-duty on Furcadia, blahblah, stayed on too long and got bombarded, started getting stressed so I had to disconnect.Looks like NamelessRO Sunrise server is back offline, UGH. And they were in the top 3 servers? Ya ok, whatev'. I'll probably be looking for a new one soon because it's aggravating not getting to play. I still wish I could play WoW, woe is me and my money problems. :p Soon, my precious, soon.

Finally, a callback! And it's EB Games!

That's right! Around 5 PM EB Games calls me and wants to schedule an interview, and the guy at the store had told me they weren't going to start that until later in the month! So either his information was wrong or they want me. :DThis is a nice change of pace. I was woke up this morning by a rude call from an account wanting money that we owe.The interview is Friday, at 1:30 PM. I write this so I can remember it. :3 Wootwoot!

Goodbye to Dunlaps.org, Hello new Style -- Oh and possibly a job.

Dunlaps.org is being taken down, perse, so now my journal will serve as my homepage, of sorts. Yes, its gotten a theme update, because all the images used in the previous style were being hosted on dunlaps.org. This one new one is nice though, I like the colors and the white background on the actual journal texts means I can use the hammie mood icons. ^_^Yesterday we did a little job hunting followed by a trip to the in-laws. We were both dead tired though, cause we got no sleep what-so-ever. Went to bed at 9 AM for a change yesterday and got up today at 1 PM. I had to run an errand for mom, she woke me up with the call.Much to my suprise, EB GAMES was hiring. :D I filled out an applications and asked some questions. Apparently most of the applicants are 17 years old so I've got an edge when it comes to age/maturity (haw!). Also, I have a free schedule and can work any day at any time slot, so I hope I've got this job in the bag! I was told that they would start intervewing applicants towards the end of July, to the middle of August. Oooooie I hope I get the job, it's such a NICE, clean store close to home and I could be surrounded by video games all day long! Of course, there is the possibility of being hired for the other store further down town, but it's still not a bad deal! Here's hoping! (Here's hoping to discounts on WoW game cards, too, heh)I need to make myself some new LJ icons too. Will do soon!6:30 PM Update:Found that cute little pic and made it 100x100. ^_^ I've emailed the original creator to make sure it's ok, waiting to hear back. Hahhaaha, isn't it cute?!12:30 AM Update:Heard a response. The userpic is A-OK and here to stay. :)

Vadercoaster at 6 AM

Mmm, vadercoaster. I swear I'm becoming more and more nocturnal by the day. It's NOT cool. Oh, and, apparently SecondLife is giving away FREE basic accounts (they were formerly $10 one-time fee) for a little while. Methinks I'll look into that when hubby wakes up so we can pick the same last name.TOMMY IS HOGGING MY SIDE OF THE BED, HIS FUR MAKES THE BED HOT AND THEN I CAN'T SLEEP. >:( Silly cat. I hate to move him, he's so cute when he sleeps.I miss World of Warcraft. :( I miss the A-team. We rocked. And hard.

Summer Cleaning

Did a TON of cleaning work today. It feels good to see how nice and neat the room looks. Then I decided it was time to clean my computer (format) and that is now done, too. Mike did his as well.No word back on that job he applied to. They are supposed to call but no word yet.His WoW account has expired and mine is soon to follow in the next couple of days.I finally thought of what I could do with my livejournal if I could ever re-do the format! I'd call it "Hamsterball" and have hamsters all over it, in white, tan, golden, and green colors. :3 Yesssss...

Mike's Job Interview

My sweetie just walked out the door to an interview at Bank of America. He looked good, mmm. :3 He's well spoken and I'm sure he'll do well. We're all rooting for him. I didn't go with him; it's very hot outside and I didn't want to linger around the bank for anywhere between 15 mins to an hour. I dunno, I just feel like they'd be suspicious of me looming, like I'd be waiting for the perfect time to pull out a gun or some crap like that.Haven't been very talkative in several online venues, I'm slowly starting to change that! Went on-duty on Furc for a little while last night, too. Uhhm.Mom is considering buying us a bread machine. Lately we've been getting the mom-in-law to make us bread, since she can make some for roughly 15c. AND IT'S GOOD. That processed crap in the stores doesn't hold a candle to regular homemade. :p So, that's very cool. Pretty soon we'll be able to make our own cheap bread and not have to spend $2 at the store each week or two (we love toast, grilled cheeses, sandwiches, etc).May amend this later to post the result of the interview. Until then, I think I'm gonna take a nice, hot shower and just goof around.I need a new stylesheet for my journal, this one is old and the info to the sides is outdated. Maybe later.

I...

I don't post much anymore, so I thought I'd give a little update. We are doing just fine. Mike is looking for a new job, I'm still going to my programming class, and we're both playing WoW like no one's business. In fact, that's why I've not been on AIM or Furcadia much lately. He wanted to try a shaman character and I wanted to try a feral druid (which has turned back into a restoration / balance druid 9_9). I convinced him to try a PVP server for the experience and so far he's really been enjoying it. It's really funny how he'll go "NIGHT ELF" and chase after them even if they're several levels above him. XD Getting ganked has made him bloodthirsty for the alliance and it's funny to watch. Unfortunately, the new patch has made it hard for us to level. We're in a guild called NEMESIS and it's been cool so far. I like playing this game with him, it's a fun hobby to share.Fortunately, I've had lots of fun on my level 52 druid participating on raids on Tarren Mill and the Undercity. >:) We were gonna take out queen Sylvannia (sp) but her big demon friend took out our raid just as horde backupss were flooding the coridor behind us. I've been racking up honor points this way, even though I know good and well I'll never make a rank appropriate enough to get anything good out of the system.Planning to be on Furcadia more soon, when our interest wanes on these characters or when Mike finds a job. See y'all soon. :)

Back from the Honeymoon

To make a long story short, we are home! The chapel was great, we had tons of fun at Disney, and he's settling into my room nicely. We're "fixing up" a room a day, because to be honest I still had boxes laying around from when we moved. :P I just had no idea where to put this junk and wasn't motivated to do anything about it.Thanks, everyone, for all the nice comments on my previous post. :DWe assembled an entertainment center too. It's filled with his electronics; a rockin' stereo and 100-disc CD player, and his larger-than-mine tv.Waiting for our official, stamped, etc marriage lisence to arrive in the mail so I can fill out forms for a new SSN card and all the good stuff that comes along with a name change. And you know, so far I can't sign my last name worth beans.

Bridal Shower

What fun that was! And how busy I've been this whole day. I've run errands from the morning up until the party. It was just some family, family friends, plus Amanda, but it was so fun. We played party games... In one I had to dress up all crazy and people had to try and remember what all crazy stuff I was wearing. Mom gave out prizes. Then we had this funny game where we all had bags on our heads.. and were told to remove four non-essential items. Amanda was the first one to win by ... taking the bag off her head. x3 Then there was the "stick the bowtie on the mostly naked man" poster. Haha.Yes, I got lingerie. <3 Yes, I got kinky things. <3 Yes, I got pamper-myself-crazy things. <3 Hrthrthrt! And I had to hold them all up for the camera, EVEN the kinky things. No ma'am, I'd rather not pose with the flavored lubricant, kthx.I had to clean out a drawer in my dresser for my new nighties. I summarily dumped my hosiery and slip drawers, being that 99% of the items I don't use AT ALL and the 1% left over I do is on rare occasions, so I can stuff a slip or two and one pair of hose somewhere else. One month, one day left. <3

Post Christmas Check-In

Well, don't expect much of this entry, it's another bored blab. Most of my room is now squarely in order, save for four more boxes of varying knick-knacks and decorations that I frankly just don't have the room for. Tom is staring at me expectantly, or at least he was until I poked him and he ran away like I was preparing to eat him through my pointer finger.Link of the day:Random Hamster Cuteness: Happy HouseSo, here's the rundown of my usual goings on/hobbies/what-have-you:The wedding:Plans are still ... going for the wedding. I'm not sure how to say that properly. Uh. Basically I need to find a dress. Transportation's no longer an issue, and, I guess now I need to make my decisions final and known about the bridemaid's stuffs.World of Warcraft:Level 23 night elf druid now. Geeze, Astranaar is a tough area. I should probably go back to the wetlands on the eastern kingdoms, since that seemed to be easier than this game of hunt and seek on Kalimdor. I play on Blackhand, if anyone's interested.Furcadia:Not much to say here. Lazy, slothful, bored. I don't like getting involved in Beekin politics, and since I don't really have much of anyone I can just dream-hop with anymore, my main source of entertainment comes from simply chatting, when there's anything worth sticking around for.The Sims 2:Got a niiiice setup going here. Bought a little house in Pleasantville, the one that's single story, near the park, kinda like a ranch. I've got a married couple in it, both very knowledge oriented. :3 Both earn over a thousand a day, and I'm aiming to get their skills pumped and their house pimped. I do play with a cheat though, and that's having their aging stopped. I don't want them to die yet. :(NationStates:I've made some really bad decisions lately and it's starting to show. I did have a good economy, but I've managed to kill it yet again.Legend of the Green Dragon:Don't much this too terribly much anymore, just when I'm REALLY bored.Gaia:Checkin' this once a day, to see if there's any new posts on my lottery. Usually though, I don't stick around because it not remembering my login is a pain in the toosh, and so is not being able to save any changes to my avatar.
