"Metaverse" Article featuring World of Warcraft
Well, someone was bound to write about it sometime. Link. It's an amusing read too. Very creepy, indeed. The artwork that accompanies the sections definitely gets the point across too, and I can't help but snicker at a dragon picking up some food and a nazi at a store. I'm suprised they didn't use EverQuest for this article as the main focus but in another sense I'm not. While EverQuest probably holds more subscribers and has for a longer period of time, WoW is the current new thing and it's expanding exponentially. Considering the topic, they could have very well used Furcadia, Matrix Online, or even Anarchy Online. But they didn't, and so now I get to be amused by the drawing of a female human mage at a boardroom meeting and analogies of items and concepts that aren't foreign to me.So, let me get this one straight here. If I was making an Awesome Me, and had the ability to choose a perfectly lean, sexy human or elf, (nevermind the fact that my first character was such an elf) but instead now have a decaying, undead shadow-specialized priest (which I enjoy more than said previous elf), what does that say about me? Teehee.Well, it's funny anyway. Go look!"Wouldn't those long Calculus lectures have been easier to sit through if, every time you learned something important, gold light shot out from your body?"Hell yes.Even more amusement:Check this out.Oh, this one too.
